We are all about encouraging people to get outdoors and that is exactly why we started our free group hikes! They are a perfect way to meet other like-minded hikers both aspiring and experienced, as well as discovering amazing, accessible walks that you can enjoy whilst we guide you along the way! OUR NEXT GROUP HIKE:
Sunday 16th August Monsal Head & Magpie Mine Circular
When: Meet at 9am for a 9:30am set-off
Where: Monsal Head Car Park, Ashford-in-the-Water, Bakewell, DE45 1NL
Difficulty: Classed as 'Moderate', circa 8 miles. Very few inclines, mostly flat terrain.
Route: Start and end on Monsal Trail, a gentle walk down to follow the River Wye, through Deep Dale Nature Reserve, a fair few wall styles and crossing fields (potentially cows in these but plenty of room for wide births, visit to Magpie Mine, through Ashford-In-The-Water
What to bring: waterproof gear, spare socks, snacks/lunch to sustain you until circa 2pm, at least 2 litres of water, £1 min contribution for Mountain Rescue (can pay by card).
Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are allowed but must be on leads. If weather is forecasted above 22C we advise not to bring dogs
